Banana Raspberry Avocado Smoothie

Why are certain things so delicious yet expensive? I am snacking on Macadamia nuts and I can go on and on and on. The only problem would be 150g baked macadamia = $9

Let’s say if I go reallllllly slow, this packet can last for 30 minutes.
Minus 8 hours of sleep (ya, right)
2 hours of doing general stuffs.
That would mean 14 hours left to snack on Macadamias.
$9 every 30 minutes
14 hours later → $252
Snacking on Macadamias for one month → $252 x 30 days → $7560

Holy macadamias, I have to give you a pass. I shall just stick to pumpkin/sunflower seeds. I am that cheap at times.

Moving on, It is a lovely Monday evening over here in Singapore and I have just finished baking Bread and Butter Pudding! This recipe is my fool proof recipe! I also made Fish Curry and you can expect the recipe to be up here soon. Soon can be anywhere between next week to next month. I know I need to be more efficient but age is catching up really fast. #excuses

Anyway, It is Skinny Monday ya’all and somehow I am happy when I get to do a Skinny Monday Post for two very obvious reasons. I do find healthy food easier to prepare. If you are doing a smoothie, you basically throw everything in the blender and If you are making a salad, you toss ‘em in a large bowl. Even if you are making something a little more elaborate, like this Southwestern Quinoa Stuffed Peppers, it would require no frying/less frying. Healthier food = less oil and less oil = an easier time in doing the dishes. Win.

Let’s do a comparison. We are taking Skinny Chicken Stir Fry and Bangers and Mash. Yes, the Skinny Chicken Stir Fry would require me to chop up a whole lot of vegetables, but everything get tossed in ONE pan and voila. Bangers and mash = boiling the potatoes, mashing it up, seasoning the potatoes and making the gravy. Of course you have to fry the sausages too. If I had it my way, there would not only be Skinny Mondays but also Skinny Tuesdays, Skinny Wednesday and so on.

So I did a smoothie today. Banana + Raspberry + Avocado. All things yummy and nutritious. Although I LOVE my avocados, I know that there are certain people who do not share my undying love for avocados. Guys, don’t let the avocado in this recipe put you off coz I promise that you can’t taste the avocado in here! The avocado here is only to make the smoothie rich and creamy. I used yogurt and fresh milk in this but you are more than welcome to use almond milk, soy milk, rice milk..etc.

Banana Raspberry Avocado Smoothie
This Raspberry Banana Avocado Smoothie keeps well so you can always do it the day/night before and the next day, when you are awake, you have a nutritious breakfast waiting for you!

Banana Raspberry Avocado Smoothie

I am not a breakfast-on-the-go kinda person. Not that I don’t like the idea, but I am a kinda girl who would skip breakfast just for an extra 10 minutes of sleep. What word would be appropriate to describe me? Sleep deprived or just plain lazy?
